Mayfair in London is known as an affluent area filled with upscale restaurants, bars and hotels. A hotel in an upscale postcode has taken its bar menu up a notch by introducing shockingly expensive cocktails.

Reverie Bar at the London Hilton Park Lane has added Reverie’s Maven of Mayfair to its cocktail menu. It’s a blatantly extravagant drink that costs customers a whopping £220 a glass.

The cocktail is served in a Baccarat crystal flute, which the team says is the only glass “worthy” of fine ingredients.

A spokesperson for the hotel bar said: “Designed to be enjoyed in a comfortable and luxurious atmosphere of Reverie red and warm lighting décor, Maven of Mayfair is a rich and complex combination of Classé Azur. “It features an elite blend of Grand Marnier.”

“Rillet rose adds floral elegance, while italics infuse subtle notes of citrus and botanicals. Maven of Mayfair is infused with a subtle blend of rare and exquisite Dom Pérignon roses, creating a velvety effervescence. It gives you an experience.”

If that’s not enough, add the final touch in the form of edible gold that glimmers in the light.

Reverie said The Maven of Mayfair was “designed for people who appreciate the best things in life.”

The drink was designed to complement the bar’s aesthetic, which blends contemporary luxury with 1960s glamor. The Reverie was designed by Avroco as part of a multi-million pound refurbishment.

There’s deep blush, terracotta and plush red seating, with a curved bar area at the center of the space. Glass sculptures hang overhead and backlit walls show off a variety of spirits.

In addition to the £220 Maven of Mayfair, the bar also offers a range of cocktails, including a range of martinis. The Reverie Martini is infused with rose, filet blanc and peach bitters and costs £17 a glass.

In addition to drinks, you can also enjoy delicious sweets such as giant croissants. Due to the limited production of only two bottles each day, it will be on a first-come, first-served basis. A giant croissant costs £29. The Revery also offers breakfast and all-day dining menus.
