A new effort is underway to put Cincinnati on the map. Business and government leaders unveiled a new website Wednesday called brandcincy.com. Anyone can use the website; all you have to do is create an account. The launch is meant to be a tri-state collaboration. Businesses can use it for promotions and individuals can use it to create their own Cincinnati itineraries. When you think of Cincinnati, it’s easy to think of what makes the city unique. Sports, beautiful scenery and skyline chili might come to mind. “We’re living in a time of renaissance right now,” said Mayor Aftab Purebar (D). Leaders gathered at Findlay Market on Wednesday morning to announce the new marketing effort. “We know that in the past, people who have traveled or never been to Cincinnati don’t know what to think of us,” said Anastasia Mileham, executive director of the Cincinnati Experience. “This is a way for us to tell the world what our city is like and help us create a brand,” a one-stop shop showcasing what the region has to offer. “This is a way that we all talk about Cincinnati consistently,” said Julie Calvert, CEO and president of the Cincinnati Tourism Board. “It’s about the region, from a tourism standpoint, from a talent standpoint, business expansion, business attraction, and bringing families and singles here.” Calvert says this will be a game changer for tourism. “This is about giving people a real sense of place — the heart, soul and vibe of Cincinnati. A place that makes people think, ‘I want to come here,'” Calvert said. They’re confident that “Brand Cincy” will help attract events and visitors. “We think it will help create a brand for Cincinnati, with the region speaking with one voice about what our city has to offer,” Mileham said. “Brand Cincy” also announced new conventions in the tri-state area on Wednesday. The timing is interesting, given that available space downtown has been temporarily reduced and the Duke Energy Center will close for construction next Tuesday. New conventions include CODAsummit, a premier event for arts and tech leaders, October 16-18, 2024 at BLINK Cincinnati, the American Arts Council National Conference June 11-14, 2025 (with ArtsWave as on-site host), the American State and Local History Association Annual Conference in September 2025 (with Taft Museum of Art and Cincinnati Museum Center as on-site hosts), and the Esports Travel Summit in June 2026 (with meetNKY, Cincinnati Fear, NKU and UC as on-site hosts). WLWT has heard “Brand Cincy” influenced the decision to host in Cincinnati.
Cincinnati —
A new effort is underway to put Cincinnati on the map.
Business and government leaders unveiled a new website Wednesday called brandcincy.com.
Anyone can use the website, you just need to create an account.
The main aim of this launch is collaboration across the three states.
It can be used by businesses for promotions or to create Cincinnati itineraries.
When you think of Cincinnati, it’s easy to think of what makes the city unique: sports, beautiful scenery, skyline chili, and more might come to mind.
“We are living in a time of renaissance,” said Mayor Aftab Purewal (Democrat).
Leaders gathered at Findlay Market on Wednesday morning to announce the new marketing initiative.
“What we’ve found in the past is that people who are traveling or who have never been to Cincinnati don’t know what to think of us,” says Anastasia Mileham, executive director of the Cincinnati Experience, “so this is a way for us to tell the world what our city is about and help build that brand.”
It’s a one-stop shop for discovering the best of the region.
“This is how we all consistently talk about Cincinnati,” said Julie Calvert, CEO and president of the Cincinnati Tourism Board, “about the region from a tourism standpoint, from a talent standpoint, from a business expansion standpoint, business attraction standpoint and bringing in families and single people.”
Calvert says this will be a major turning point for tourism.
“This is to give people a real feel for the place – the heart, soul and vibe of Cincinnati. A place that makes people think, ‘I want to go here,'” Calvert said.
They believe “Brand Cincy” will help attract events and visitors.
“I think by coming together as a community and having a say in what our city has to offer, we can help build the Cincinnati brand,” Mileham said.
Brand Cincy also announced new conventions in the tri-state area on Wednesday.
The timing is interesting, considering the Duke Energy Center will close for construction next Tuesday, temporarily reducing available space downtown.
The new rules include:
CODAsummit, the premier event for leaders in arts and technology, will take place October 16-18, 2024 at BLINK Cincinnati.
The Americans for the Arts national conference will take place June 11-14, 2025, with ArtsWave serving as the local host.
The American Association for State and Local History’s annual conference will be held in September 2025, with the Taft Museum of Art and the Cincinnati Museum Center as local hosts.
The Esports Travel Summit in June 2026 will feature meetNKY, Cincinnati Fear, NKU and UC as local hosts.
WLWT reportedly said “Brand Cincy” influenced its decision to host the show in Cincinnati.
