The Ministry of Reconstruction of Ukraine and MasterCard have partnered to promote Ukrainian regions as domestic and international tourist destinations.
“Restoring tourism is an essential part of the country’s economic recovery – to increase tax revenues and strengthen the overall brand of Ukraine. Today we need to work on developing a comprehensive and accessible tourist infrastructure, promoting domestic tourism for Ukrainian consumers and creating conditions for legal employment in the tourism sector,” said Serhiy Derkach, Ukraine’s Deputy Minister for Community, Territorial and Infrastructure Development.
“Through our collaboration with MasterCard, we will focus on analysis and research into the Ukrainian tourism industry, which will allow us to create a comprehensive strategy to position Ukraine as an attractive tourist destination and promote the development of Ukrainian regions and communities based on emerging trends.”
The MoU outlines cooperation to improve the quality of the country’s tourism product; promote digitalization of the tourism industry and support the development of digital services among tourism MSMEs; and promote investment attraction for tourism development. Finally, the MoU will analyze Ukraine’s top destinations, trends and travel experiences, and develop and implement an effective tourism strategy for the country.
