NEON, a global experiential entertainment company, announced that its group CEO and Chairman, Long Tan, has received the Outstanding Tourism Entrepreneur Award at the Singapore Tourism Awards. The award was presented by Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong at a ceremony held at Raffles City Convention Centre on 28 June 2024.
The Singapore Tourism Awards 2024 recognises outstanding people and businesses who embody corporate excellence and deliver memorable experiences across tourism-related industries. Mr Tan, along with other awardees such as Changi Airport Group (CAG) and Singapore Airlines (SIA) Group, were recognised for their outstanding contributions to the tourism sector.
“I am incredibly honoured to receive the Outstanding Tourism Entrepreneur Award,” said Mr Tan. “This award is testament to the dedication and hard work of our global team and I accept it on behalf of everyone. I would like to thank the Singapore Tourism Board for this award and would like to extend my deepest gratitude to our board of directors, shareholders, studio partners, various government partners and partners and collaborators around the world, whose support has contributed greatly to our success.”
“This recognition is a celebration of our journey and we are grateful to be able to share this special moment with all of you.”
The award builds on past successes
The Outstanding Tourism Entrepreneur award came after the Singapore Tourism Awards recognised NEON’s landmark development, AVATAR: The Experience at Gardens by the Bay, with the Outstanding Attraction Experience award for 2023. 2,630,925 visitors visited the enchanting Pandora experience over the 419 show days, breaking the previous record for the highest attendance of any NEON IP show worldwide.
NEON is currently preparing to open two more internationally acclaimed experiences: the Asian premiere of Harry Potter: Visions of Magic, opening at Resorts World Sentosa in Q4 2024, and Impressions of Monet, a multi-sensory experience celebrating the art, life and gardens of French painter and impressionist master Claude Monet, opening at the Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay on 12 July.
NEON will continue to leverage the Group’s various cutting-edge technologies and unique ideas to push the boundaries of experiential entertainment and deliver innovative, immersive and unforgettable experiences to audiences around the world. With the support of our stakeholders, partners and collaborators, we are focused on expanding our reach, investing in new opportunities and continuously improving our operational capabilities.
NEON recently announced that in collaboration with the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, “Ramses and the Gold of the Pharaohs” will premiere in Tokyo in spring 2025.
