KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A new year is here and Kansas City may be bringing in even more tourists, as it recently made two prominent lists of the best places to travel in 2024.
The Wall Street Journal named Kansas City, Missouri, on its list of “Top 10 Places to Visit in 2024.”

In an article, the Wall Street Journal said that despite Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey’s romance, there’s more to Kansas City than their budding romance.
The outlet mentioned a number of new developments in Kansas City, including CPKC Stadium, Rock Island Bridge, and Penway Point.
The paper noted how Current’s new stadium will serve as a venue for concerts, festivals and farmers markets. The Rock Island Bridge was praised for its novelty, connecting Kansas and Missouri with cafes and bars. WSJ introduced Pennway Point’s new Ferris wheel, beer garden, restaurants, and more.
The magazine also mentioned PickleCon, the first pickleball tournament to be held at the Kansas City Convention Center in Kansas City.

The New York Times also recently listed Kansas City as one of its “52 Places to Visit in 2024.” All of their points were similar to the Wall Street Journal’s, including CPKC Stadium, Rock Island Bridge, and Penn Way Point.
The paper also notes that the city is the Midwest’s only host for the 2026 World Cup, making it clear that “soccer reigns supreme.”
