AMMAN, May 12 (Petra) — Sameer Majali, Vice Chairman and CEO of Royal Jordanian Airlines, has been named among the Forbes Top 100 Travel and Tourism Leaders in the Middle East in 2024. Ta.
Forbes selects leaders from various sectors of the travel and tourism industry, including aviation, hospitality, destinations, and tourism development authorities.
Ranking criteria include business size, number of passengers and visitors, revenue, investment and asset value, aircraft size, leadership role, experience, influence and performance.
Majali, who has over 40 years of industry expertise, has been at the helm of RJ since March 2021. The company reported total assets of $1.3 billion and revenue of $1 billion in 2023.
Notably, RJ expanded its routes to Stockholm, Düsseldorf, Algeria, Brussels, and Bahrain during the same period. In 2023 alone, the company operated his 33,367 flights and served 3.6 million travelers.
In 2019, Majali founded Plain Vision, a Bahrain-based consultancy specializing in business strategy and organization. Prior to joining RJ, he served as CEO of Saudi Gulf Air from 2013 to 2019 and as Senior Advisor to the Chairman of Oman Air in 2013.
Mr. Majali’s industry leadership extends to his roles as Chairman of the IATA Board of Directors (2008-2009) and member of the IATA Board of Directors from 2005 to 2012.
