The Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) has launched the 2024 Saudi Summer Programme, titled “Saudi Summer is Next Door,” to boost the Kingdom’s tourism sector.
The program will run for four months until the end of September and will focus on seven destinations. Additionally, it includes over 550 tourism products and over 150 special offers and packages for families and children.
The 2024 Saudi Summer Program will be held in destinations such as Asir, Al Baha, Taif, Red Sea, Jeddah, Riyadh, and AlUla. Additionally, the program will also see the return of the Jeddah season and the start of the Asir season.
Main events this summer
Saudi Arabia has scheduled several major events under the 2024 Saudi Summer Program. The most famous are the Esports World Cup in Riyadh and multiple boxing tournaments in Riyadh and Jeddah.
At the launch of the summer program, Ahmed Al Khateeb, Minister of Tourism and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Tourism Authority (STA), highlighted global tourism trends. Additionally, he highlighted the growth of the Saudi tourism sector and the record number of incoming tourists, which resulted in Saudi Arabia topping the United Nations’ global tourism list and the G20 countries list.
“Saudi Arabia is undergoing a transformational period in tourism, driven by our vision to make the Kingdom one of the world’s leading tourist destinations.The Saudi Summer Program 2024 is dedicated to the rich cultural heritage, natural beauty and beauty that Saudi Arabia has to offer. It is our commitment to showcase unparalleled hospitality,” added Al Khateeb.
“Through the Saudi Summer Program 2024 promotional campaign, we want to highlight the uniqueness of the destination and its climatic, natural and cultural diversity, along with the great events and activities that take place during the summer” STA CEO Fahad Hamidaddin commented.

Streamline visa services
The launch of the 2024 Saudi Summer Program comes at a time when it has become easier to visit Saudi Arabia. In an effort to streamline the process, Saudi Arabia has launched an e-visa, available to nationals of 66 countries. This reduces the cost of your Saudi visa by 20%.
Additionally, the number of weekly flights from Gulf cities to Saudi summer destinations increased to 1,100 flights. Therefore, residents of the Gulf region can easily fly to the country and enter for up to 90 days using a GCC resident visa. Additionally, the number of hotel rooms across Saudi Arabia is increasing, with an additional 25,000 rooms expected to be added this year.
