The Caribbean Tourism Organisation’s (CTO) State of the Tourism Industry Conference (SOTIC) 2024 is set to take place at the Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa from September 2-6, 2024. With the theme “Caribbean Tourism – Our Lifeblood”, SOTIC 2024 will bring together regional and global leaders, decision makers, stakeholders and influencers to discuss key issues impacting the Caribbean tourism sector.
The Congress will begin with a CTO Business Session on 2-3 September, followed by meetings of the Executive Board and the Council of Ministers. On 5 September, a Regional Tourism Youth Conference will be held, where “Junior Tourism Ministers” (students aged 14-17) from CTO member states and regions will compete for the title of Youth Ambassador.
“We are thrilled to host this prestigious event in the Cayman Islands this September,” said Kenneth Bryan, Cayman Islands CTO Chairman and Minister of Tourism and Ports. “It will be an honor to bring together the best and brightest minds in our industry to tackle important challenges, explore innovative solutions and chart a course for the future of Caribbean tourism. We also look forward to showcasing Caymanian culture and our special brand of hospitality to delegates from across the region and the world,” added Bryan.
SOTIC 2024 will feature a rich and diverse program featuring presentations from leading experts in technology, aviation, cruise and sustainability. These industry leaders will share their insights on the latest trends and innovations shaping the future of Caribbean tourism.
The future-looking presentation will take an in-depth look at the AI revolution in Caribbean travel, examining how artificial intelligence is transforming customer experience, operational efficiency and destination management.
Participants can expect to gain valuable perspectives on how emerging technologies are transforming the travel experience, the evolving landscape of air and cruise travel in the region, and cutting-edge approaches to sustainable tourism development.
“Tourism is a primary driver of the region’s economy and SOTIC provides an important platform for strategic discussions to foster competitiveness and sustainable growth,” said CTO Executive Director and CEO Donna Regis Prosper. “The Caribbean tourism sector has demonstrated incredible resilience and adaptability in recent years, and now is the time to build on that momentum,” she continued.
