According to TripAdvisor, Tokyo is the top trending destination for 2024.
Japan was one of the last countries to ease border closures after the coronavirus pandemic, and now borders are open again and tourists are lining up to visit the country.
Tokyo is among the top 24 destinations in the world among non-American travelers this year, according to Airbnb data shared with CNBC.
Airbnb said travel search traffic in the first nine months of 2024 has more than tripled compared to the same period in 2023, the largest increase in any country.
