Tourism North Bay is re-launching its Driftscape application, designed to enhance the travel experience for residents and visitors.
“The application provides an immersive way to explore North Bay’s natural beauty, rich cultural heritage and vibrant community through the city’s points of interest, self-guided tours and interactive maps,” the news release states.
Tourism North Bay has partnered with the City of North Bay’s Economic Development Department, the Public Library, Discovery Routes and Creative Industries to produce the self-guided tours, with more features to be added in the coming months.
“Not only will this app enhance the visitor experience, it will encourage residents to explore and appreciate the incredible assets our city has to offer,” said Tanya Bedard, executive director of Tourism North Bay. “By embracing digital tourism, we aim to make North Bay a more accessible and enjoyable destination for everyone.”
The app was first introduced in 2020 but never had the chance to reach its full potential due to travel restrictions and safety measures implemented during the pandemic.
Driftscape allows users to discover hidden gems, historic sites, local attractions, upcoming events, and accommodation information in North Bay.
“The app is packed with detailed information and multimedia content, including images, audio and video, providing a comprehensive guide to the city’s attractions,” Bédard added.

Interactive Maps: Explore North Bay with an interactive map that highlights major sights, trails and cultural landmarks. Self-Guided Tours: Enjoy a curated self-guided tour showcasing the best of North Bay’s history, arts, culture and natural attractions. Multimedia Content: Access a wealth of multimedia content, including photos, audio guides and videos, to gain a deeper understanding of each location. Events Listings: Stay up to date on the latest events and activities with a link to our website’s events calendar. Food & Drink: Download our dine-in listings of North Bay’s diverse cuisine and brewery menus.
