Trip.com Group Managing Director and Vice President of International Markets Boon Siang Chai said the company will support these hospitality businesses with technology and marketing tools to make it easier for travellers to discover and book their perfect stay.
These include an artificial intelligence platform that analyses travellers’ travel preferences, and live-streaming content created by influencers and key opinion leaders to drive awareness among customers, he explained.
“This collaboration, which brings together the efforts and vision of both companies, marks a milestone to further enhance user experience and address a new chapter in the travel industry,” he said.
Founded in 1999, Trip.com Group helps travelers around the world make informed and cost-effective bookings of travel products and services. The Group also enables its partners to offer their services to users through travel-related content and resources on its transaction platform, which consists of an app, website and customer service centre. Besides Trip.com, the Group’s other platforms include Ctrip, Skyscanner and Qunar.
These partnerships come on the back of healthy growth, with hotel bookings in the Philippines and Vietnam surging on Trip.com Group’s platform in April this year.
Searches for hotels in the Philippines and Vietnam on the group’s platform grew 188% and 84% respectively during the same period, it added.
