Travel website TripAdvisor has named the best places to stay around the world in 2024 in its annual Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best Hotel Awards.
The UK also came out on top in the B&B category with four properties in the top 10.
Mauritius’ Boyle Blue took top spot in the category, while Toulson Court in Scarborough, which topped last year’s rankings, came in second, Highcliff House in Exmoor National Park came in sixth and Weymouth, Dorset, was in second place. Gloucester House came seventh, while the Burberry Hotel in Torquay, Devon, completed the top ten.

The world’s number one hotel in 2024 is Hotel Colline de France, a boutique hotel located in the town of Gramado, a mountain resort in the far south of Brazil.
According to TripAdvisor, the property is “renowned for its personalized service and French elegance” and has been ranked in the top five for three consecutive years.
Rounding out the world’s top five hotels are OBLU SELECT Lobigili in the Maldives, La Siesta Hoi An Resort & Spa in Vietnam, Adiwana Suweta in Bali and Iberostar Grand Packard in Havana, Cuba.

The TripAdvisor Awards aim to “highlight the favorite experiences of travelers around the world,” and other categories include Best Hotel in the United States, Best Luxury Hotel, Best Pet-Friendly Hotel, and Best Lasting Includes available hotels.
The best hotel in the UK is The Resident Covent Garden in London. Seven of the top 10 properties are located in the capital, including The Chesterfield Mayfair and The Cadogan in Chelsea.

Winners in other categories include Shore Hotel in Santa Monica, best in the US, and Reef House Adults-Only Bespoke Escape in Cairns, best in Australia.
The most pet-friendly hotel in the world in 2024 is Hotel Fiorese Cuero Cuero in the Brazilian town of Gramado.
The most sustainable hotel is Banyan Tree Escape Buahan in the highlands of Bali, and the most luxurious is OBLU SELECT Lovigiri in the Maldives. When it comes to wellness, our top choice for 2024 is Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa.

Overall there are a total of 9 categories. Top hotels, all-inclusives, B&Bs and inns, family-friendly, luxury hotels and small boutique hotels are all back, and pet-friendly, sustainable wellness is all new in 2024.
The rankings are determined “based on the quality and quantity of traveler reviews and ratings posted on TripAdvisor during the 12-month period from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023, as well as an additional editorial process.” .
