Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the resolution titled “On Approval of International Agreements.”
The document formally approves the agreement between the governments of Uzbekistan and Qatar aimed at strengthening cooperation in tourism and business events. The agreement was signed in Doha on October 2, 2023.
The Tourism Commission has been appointed as the competent authority responsible for the implementation of this international agreement.
Once the agreement comes into force, the Council of Ministers and the heads of the relevant ministries and agencies will be empowered to oversee the implementation of the agreement in accordance with established procedures.
Purpose of the Agreement
The agreement aims to strengthen the tourism sector of both countries in the following ways:
Promoting mutual tourism: Encouraging citizens of both countries to explore each other’s cultural, historical and natural attractions. Promoting business events: Organizing joint business forums, conferences and exhibitions to foster commercial relations. Strengthening infrastructure: Collaborating in developing tourism infrastructure such as hotels, resorts and transport networks. Exchanging knowledge: Sharing best practices and expertise in tourism management, marketing and customer service.
