HATTIESBURG, Mich. (WDAM) – Tuesday morning, VisitHATTIESBURG teamed up with our tourism partners to help clean up Longleaf Trace.

To celebrate National Travel and Tourism Week, volunteers picked up trash, laid mulch and did other landscaping to beautify one of Hattiesburg’s most visited outdoor attractions.

“I love the effort to do this at VisitHATTIESBURG. Again, it’s all about the community, it’s all about the people of our city,” said Holiday Inn General Manager David Coello. said.

“In addition to recognizing those working on the front lines of our industry, we also know that tourism starts right here in our backyards,” says Kristen Brock of VisitHATTIESBURG. “We know that our community comes to Longleaf Trace and really enjoys this facility. So we want to give back to them and take pride in the attractions we have in our area. You can also prepare it for the coming visitors.

In celebration of National Travel and Tourism Week, VisitHATTIESBURG is teaming up with local partners to offer two giveaways, one for couples and one for families, each valued at over $500 and including hotel stays, meals and activities.

VisitHATTIESBURG also holds a photo contest. To participate, participants must submit their favorite moments and memories from their time in Hattiesburg. Locals and tourists alike are welcome to participate. All submissions are due by May 31, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.

For more information and to enter these giveaways, visit the VisitHATTIESBURG website here.
