LAGRANGE, Ga. — West Georgia Technological University (WGTC) is proud to announce the introduction of the Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management (HRTM) program, designed to prepare students for dynamic careers in the thriving hospitality industry. Masu.
The HRTM program offers an associate’s degree, a diploma, and “Event Coordinator,” “Food and Beverage Director,” “Hospitality Human Resources Assistant,” “Hotel Management Specialist,” and “Restaurant Manager.”
“Students are able to combine classroom education with hands-on experience in the field,” said Amber Payne, HRTM program director. “Not only will they have the opportunity to hear from industry leaders and shadow local hospitality workers, but they will also receive personalized guidance in their personal and professional development, while You can build long-lasting connections with your colleagues.”
The hospitality industry continues to grow right here in the West Georgia region, serving the diverse needs and desires of travelers around the world.
“According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 23.1% of new jobs are expected to be in leisure and hospitality,” Payne said.
“The total economic impact of tourism in Georgia has also increased by 13% year over year, increasing the need for industry professionals to support this.”
The HRTM program will be available beginning in the fall 2024 semester and will be offered at WGTC’s Callaway Conference Center in LaGrange. Core classes are available during the summer semester starting May 28th.
