What business travelers will want from a hotel stay in 2024

Business travelers prioritize value for money, connectivity, comfort and well-being when traveling for work, according to a new study, which suggests free Wi-Fi, healthy food options and on-site productivity-enhancing options. functionality is required.

New research from Corporate Traveler reveals that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are becoming more selective about their hotel choices as airfares and lodging costs rise and business travel spending increases by an estimated 27% in 2023. did.

As corporate travel costs increase and 91% of small businesses continue to travel, business travelers want hotels with remote work facilities and perks to help them maintain balance.

Most respondents wanted accommodations that offered rooms with office facilities and facilities to serve as efficient workspaces within standard hotel rates.

Nearly three in four respondents (73%) want free, high-speed Wi-Fi. 41% asked for free printing facilities and 37% asked for a room with additional power outlets and USB ports.

Only 21% of respondents preferred on-site coworking space, showing that people value the ability to work privately in their hotel room.

A whopping 44% of businesses believe that healthy breakfast and meal options are essential when choosing a hotel, and one in four respondents (25%) consider a large, well-equipped hotel I preferred a hotel with fitness facilities.

More than a third (36%) of respondents were also looking for a hotel that offered a relaxing area separate from the room.

Business travelers want a balance between work and health

Corporate Traveler’s global managing director, Tom Whalley, said the survey results show that business travelers are increasingly seeking accommodations that go beyond standard services.

“We are seeing a clear shift towards hotels serving as supplementary workplaces, a trend driven by a growing demand for spaces where guests can concentrate and work in private,” he said.

“This study also revealed that health is highly valued. Hotels that prioritize these amenities will be able to differentiate themselves in the market and ensure a productive yet balanced business trip. It has the potential to attract business travelers looking for
