Do you like traveling? Where have the things you loved gone? Where have you always wanted to go?

Every year, the Times Travel section publishes a list of 52 Places to Visit. Here are some of the destinations our editor suggests visiting in her 2024.

The Path to Wholeness, North America

Paris, France

Paris is already one of the most visited cities in the world and is preparing to welcome millions of tourists this summer as host of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This will be the biggest sporting event in the city’s history, and many famous monuments will be transformed into sporting and entertainment venues to commemorate the occasion.

Yamaguchi Prefecture

Yamaguchi is often referred to as the Kyoto of the West, but it’s much more interesting than that, and far less plagued by “tourist pollution.” It is a compact city of approximately 190,000 people located in a narrow valley between the Seto Inland Sea and the Sea of Japan.

Rurikoji Temple, with its impeccable gardens and stunning five-storied pagoda, has been designated a national treasure. The city’s small winding lanes offer a variety of experiences. There are also great counter-only restaurants that serve oden and hot pot dishes. Just a 15-minute walk south is the hot spring village of Yuda Onsen.

Dominica, Caribbean

Dominica, a 290-square-mile independent country in the West Indies, is a patchwork of volcanoes, rainforests, waterfalls, and hot springs, earning it the nickname Nature Island. Later this year, visitors will get a bird’s-eye view of the great outdoors thanks to a $54 million, 4.1-mile cable car line that will take passengers from the lush Roseau Valley to nearly 200 feet of Boiling Lake. become able to. – Extensive fumaroles are filled with water at nearly 200 degrees Celsius and currently require a grueling climb to reach them.
