Enshrouded lets you fast travel almost instantly, but the real challenge is establishing your own network so you can teleport around the map. The game requires you to venture into dangerous “covered” areas where you can only survive for a certain amount of time. Also, while you can’t fast travel while in the Shroud, being able to quickly return to your base and leave your valuables there is very convenient.
Fast travel is also useful if you’ve wandered quite far and want to get back to a safe location before dark. As you begin to explore the Kingdom of Embervale more broadly, fast travel becomes a viable option for covering large areas, although it is somewhat restrictive at first. With that in mind, we’ll show you how to fast travel in Enshrouded and how to access more locations.

In addition to the Cinder Vault where your adventure begins, you can fast travel to any ancient tower you climb to the top or any Altar of Fire you place on the map.
The ancient spiers are hard to miss, massive towers dominating the landscape. If you can find your way to the top, you’ll unlock high-altitude fast-travel spots perfect for jumping off in your glider.
The Altar of Flame, on the other hand, is a craftable item required to set up a base. You’ll be introduced to these as soon as you leave the first cave. To create one he needs 5 stones. Once placed, you can fast-travel to the Altar of Fire at any time by opening the map and clicking on the icon. This is very useful if you’re exploring a dangerous area and need a nearby spawn point, or a quick way to return if you need to empty your backpack at your main base.
First, only two Altars of Fire can be active at a time. If you want to place the third altar in a different location, you will have to interact with one of the existing altars and “disappear” it by clicking on the relevant button. It will disappear after about 30 seconds, allowing you to place the Flame Altar in a new location. Please note that an active Altar of Flame is required to construct a structure. Therefore, it is best to have at least one permanent altar to house your base of operations.
Increasing the level of flame, which can be done on a fire altar, also increases the capacity of the active altar, along with bonuses to shroud time and character stats. It’s worth prioritizing these upgrades before you start any serious research.
