A new travel report from UK-based postal and financial services company British Post has revealed some of the most budget-friendly destinations for 2024. Although the annual report is aimed at UK travelers, it is a useful list for travelers. Americans too.

The Holiday Money Report 2024 reveals some of the cheapest places to travel by analyzing the currency strength, local prices and essential tourism costs of 40 popular holiday destinations around the world. The report ranks destinations based on a barometer that takes into account local prices for eight tourist essentials, including coffee, beer, cola, wine, water, sunscreen, insect repellent and a three-course meal. And while this report doesn’t include factors like hotels and airfare, it can help you understand where you’re spending the most money.

This is the 18th year the Post Office has produced this report. And the good news is that in 25 positions on the list, prices have fallen from last year. (Please note that the original report included prices in pounds, converted here to dollars using the exchange rate of 1.26 on the date of publication.)
