From addressing bias and discrimination to ensuring human oversight of AI systems, this report helps organizations harness the power of AI responsibly.

In the fourth and final installment, “Artificial Intelligence (AI): Global Strategy, Policy, and Regulation,” WTTC provides a detailed overview of the AI ecosystem across major countries and international organizations.

It shows how policymakers are navigating the AI landscape and developing regulations and strategies to foster AI innovation, while ensuring the ethical and responsible use of AI.

The insights provided in these reports demonstrate that AI is more than just a technological advancement. A strategic tool that can personalize customer experiences, drive sustainable improvements, and shape the future of travel and tourism.

“AI is already being used across our sector with incredible results. Several leading hotel groups, including Iberostar, are using AI to monitor and reduce food waste. As a result, we not only recently realized 27% cost savings, but also saved thousands of kilograms of unwanted food from going to landfill.

Julie Shainock, Managing Director, Travel, Transportation & Logistics Industry, Microsoft. “AI is being adopted across the travel ecosystem to improve customer and employee experiences and improve operational efficiency. We are just at the beginning of the journey.

“We look forward to seeing what the future holds as AI is more widely adopted to automate the mundane tasks of travel and harness the true spirit of travel to enhance the human experience. .”

According to WTTC, AI has the power to revolutionize the way businesses in the travel and tourism sector operate, offering immense opportunities for growth and innovation.

Both reports highlight the urgent need for the travel and tourism industry to embrace AI as a strategic priority, invest in talent, and foster human-AI collaboration.

However, despite growing industry awareness of the potential of AI, challenges still exist, such as the lack of a workforce with AI skills in the travel and tourism industry, and challenges to overcome barriers to adoption remain. This highlights the importance of proactive measures.

As AI continues to reshape our world, WTTC continues to be at the forefront, advocating for safe, ethical, and inclusive AI innovation.
