El Salvador
New entry as of November 15, 2021
El Salvador has now joined Mexico in being the second country in the WORLD in late 2021 to have no entry requirements or vaccine passports.
El Salvador originally reopened in September 2020 but was requiring all arrivals to bring proof of a negative PCR test. Then, on April 21, 2021, they also added proof of being fully vaccinated as a way to avoid testing. However, now as of November 15, 2021, all requirements have been dropped.
Norway
New entry as of February 12, 2022
Norway becomes the first European country to fully remove ALL covid-19 entry requirements, including all forms, testing and quarantine rules, proof of vaccination, country ban lists, and all other border restrictions. Visiting Norway as of February 12, 2022, is like visiting in pre-pandemic times.
In combination with the removal of all entry requirements, Norway has also removed all internal covid restrictions like mask-wearing, isolation periods, social distancing, and all use of vaccine passports.
Slovenia
New entry as of February 21, 2022
Slovenia is the 4th country in the world to remove all entry requirements, allowing foreign travelers to enter like pre-pandemic times.
Slovenia’s RVT program (recovered/vaccinated/tested) has been discontinued at the border as well as internally. Now, visitors will not have to show proof of a negative test, being recently recovered or even vaccinated to enter, nor to access things like museums, restaurants, resorts, or other activities.
Slovenia removed its indoor mask mandate mid-April.
Iceland
New entry as of Feb 25, 2022
Iceland is the 5th country to remove all entry requirements, including internal rules, starting February 25.
Now, anyone can enter Iceland, regardless of vaccination status. They have also fully abolished all tests, quarantines, and online health forms to enter the country. Once inside, mask mandates have been removed, as have limits on gatherings and even early closing hours for bars and restaurants.
Bahrain
New entry as of Feb 26, 2022
Bahrain has removed all their covid-related entry requirements, along with most internal restrictions, as the Middle Eastern nation returns to normal.
Proof of pre-flight testing, on arrival testing, and all vaccination requests are now discontinued, including internal vaccine passports. Now all travelers, regardless of vaccination status, can enter Bahrain like pre-pandemic times.
Jordan
New entry as of March 1, 2022
The kingdom of Jordan has removed PCR testing, proof of vaccination, and all other covid-related entry requirements. Now travelers can enter without testing, quarantines, or vaccine passports. The only small requirement left is the obligation to fill out an online health form, which strangely doesn’t ask any covid-related questions.
Ireland
New entry as of March 7, 2022
Ireland was one of the first nations to discontinue most internal covid-related rules in January 2022, which now harmonize with their new entry requirement removal. From March 7, 2022, there will be zero travel restrictions for any traveler entering Ireland.
Travelers from any country can enter Ireland without testing, proof of vaccination, quarantines, health forms, or any other covid-related entry requirement. All have been removed.
Hungary
New entry as of March 7, 2022
Hungary removes all its border restrictions, continuing the trend throughout Europe. As of March 7, 2022, travelers will no longer need tests or proof of vaccination to enter Hungary – they can simply enter like pre-pandemic times. Most internal restrictions are also removed, like vaccine passports, mask mandates, etc., but a few rules still exist in health care settings.
Romania
New entry as of March 9, 2022
Romania just removed all their covid-related entry requirements at the border, as well as internal restrictions, on March 9, 2022. Tourists will no longer need to show a negative test or proof of vaccination to enter. All that’s left is a simple form, but it doesn’t ask any covid-related questions.
Once inside Romania, the mask mandates, all vaccine passports, and things like capacity limits have been discontinued.
Saudi Arabia
New entry as of March 9, 2022
Saudi Arabia has removed their entry requirements, qualifying them for this list, but a few small requirements still remain that travelers should be aware of. Gone are the important ones including proof of vaccination, quarantines, and testing. Still in place are online health forms, proof of travel health insurance, and a contact tracing app.

Montenegro
New entry as of March 10, 2022
Montenegro has become the latest country worldwide to drop all COVID-19 travel restrictions. Travelers will no longer need to show proof of vaccination or present a negative COVID-19 test upon arrival.
Internally the nation will no longer require vaccine passports or testing to enter cinemas, museums, restaurants, bars, galleries, hotels, theaters, and gyms. However, there is still an indoor mask mandate for now.
Curaçao
New entry as of March 10, 2022
Curaçao has removed all its testing, quarantine, and vaccination entry requirements as of March 10, 2022. Travel to the Caribbean island will look much like it did in pre-pandemic times.
Curaçao did keep a few simple entry requirements like an online digital form and proof of travel health insurance, but nothing that is a barrier to entry.
United Kingdom
New entry as of March 14, 2022
Officially starting at 4:00 am on March 18th, England will join the list of nations that have removed all entry requirements, and they certainly removed all of them. Not even forms will remain.
England dropped most of its entry requirements and internal restrictions earlier in 2022, but they still had a few requirements in place that did not qualify them for this list, chiefly, 2 tests needed for unvaccinated passengers. Now, all requirements have been removed completely. Entry is exactly how it was pre-pandemic.
This includes territories.
Maldives
New entry as of March 15, 2022
The Maldives have relaxed all their pandemic-related entry requirements, ended the state of emergency period, and removed mask mandates. Travelers no longer need to show tests, proof of vaccination, or even have travel health insurance to enter.
Aruba
New entry as of March 16, 2022
The small island nation of Aruba joins neighboring Curaçao, and removes Covid entry requirements as of March 19, 2022. The only rules that remain are the digital passenger card, now being used more as a customs/immigration form, and the requirement to have travel insurance.
Mongolia
New entry as of March 17, 2022
Mongolia showed up on this list on March 1, but was quickly removed after confusion within the nation about entry rules. Two weeks later, it seems as if the internal conflict over the entry rules has come to a close, with requirements officially removed as of March 15, 2022.
Moldova
New entry as of March 17, 2022
Moldova made the announcement on its Ministry of Interior page that they’ve removed entry requirements as of March 16, 2022.
Gabon

Yemen
New entry as of March 18, 2022
Both new entries of Gabon and Yemen have removed all covid-related entry requirements for travelers, but little data is provided other than no testing, proof of vaccination or quarantines have all been removed.
Costa Rica
New Entry as of March 24, 2022
Costa Rica will once again be included on this list, as they’ve decided to drop their internal Vaccine Passport system starting April 1, 2022. While Costa Rica has had very liberal entry requirements throughout the pandemic, recent internal use of proof of vaccine to enter restaurants and hotels kept it from being recommended as a restriction-free nation.
Also on April 1st, they will drop the requirement for unvaccinated tourists to purchase travel health insurance and the online health form.
Sweden
New entry as of March 26, 2022
Sweden is dropping all their remaining covid-related entry requirements on April 1, 2022. All proof of vaccination and tests for entry will no longer be required to travel to Sweden, regardless of what country the traveler is coming from. Masks and internal vaccine passports were dropped back in February 2022.
Poland
New entry as of March 28, 2022
As of March 28th, Poland has removed all of its Covid-related entry requirements, as well as most internal restrictions including lifting its indoor mask mandate and the requirement to quarantine.
Denmark
New entry as of March 29, 2022
As of March 29, travelers from every nation can again visit Denmark under pre-pandemic rules, while inside the country all social curbs, including mandatory vaccine passes and mask usage, no longer apply as well. This includes Faroe Islands.
Grenada
New entry as of March 31, 2022
Starting April 4, 2022, Covid proof of entry will no longer apply to foreign visitors visiting the tri-island nation of Grenada, as it fully reopens to tourism under pre-pandemic regulations. This means both the vaccinated and unvaccinated are welcome without testing, quarantine, or any further requirements.
Latvia
New entry as of April 1, 2022
As of April 1, 2022, Latvia removed all entry requirements including proof of vaccination, COVID-19 testing, and passenger locator forms to enter the nation.
Argentina
New Entry as of April 3, 2022
The Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Health of Argentina confirmed that within the next few days, the nation will remove all entry requirements and return to ‘normal’ pre-pandemic entry rules.
Slovakia
New entry as of April 6, 2022
Slovakia is the latest EU nation to remove entry requirements. As of April 6, 2022, all travelers—regardless of vaccination status—no longer need to quarantine or complete the eHranica passenger locator form. This makes entry just as it was prior to the pandemic.
Czech Republic
New entry as of April 9, 2022
Joining neighbors Slovakia and Poland, Czechia has removed all entry requirements as of April 9th. All proof of testing, vaccination and even the passenger locator form is now discontinued. As for masks, officials in Czechia relaxed the country’s mask mandates from March 14, 2022
Greece
New entry as of April 11, 2022
Greece announced on April 11th they will be removing entry requirements, as well as their internal vaccine passport program, starting on May 2, 2022. There is a chance both entry requirements and the vaccine passport could return on September 1st if cases rise too high over the summer, but for at least 4 months tourists from all countries can enter Greece restriction-free.
Jamaica
New entry as of April 14, 2022
Jamaica removes all entry requirements effective April 15, 2022. The pre-departure test was the last remaining Covid-related entry requirement in place for international arrivals to Jamaica. The indoor mask mandate was also removed on the same day.
Bonaire
New entry as of April 19, 2022
Bonaire joins the other ABC islands in removing all their entry requirements starting April 20th, including proof of vaccination and/or testing to access the country. An online health form is still being asked.
North Macedonia
New entry as of April 20
North Macedonia removed all entry requirements as of April 21, 2022. They had removed them once before in 2020 but reinstated them again in 2021. Hopefully, their 2022 removal will be a permanent move.
Switzerland
New entry as of April 22, 2022
Switzerland is removing all entry requirements on May 2, 2022. This is very different from the partial removal they did back in February that did not include countries like the USA and Canada. Now, as of May 2, entry regardless of the country of origin will be like pre-pandemic times.
Dominican Republic
New entry as of April 26, 2022
The Dominican Republic has been a nation that almost qualified for this list many times throughout the pandemic, but has finally, as of April 26, officially removed all its entry rules.
We had been delaying adding it earlier on in 2022 because there was still a random breathalizer-type test being given to arrivals. Plus, some nations (notably the UK) still had to bring a PCR test to enter, even when all entry requirements had been lifted for American and Canadian tourists.
Now all rules, like the UK’s PCR and the random 5% testing of arrivals, have been dropped.
Albania
Albania returns to the list! Starting May 1, Albania is officially removing all entry requirements, returning to normal. No tests, proof of vaccine, or forms are needed to enter.
Albania was on this list for 1-year during half of 2020 and 2021. However, in September 2021, they put entry requirements into place, including testing for entry, removing it from this list.
Bulgaria
Bulgaria scraps all entry requirements effective May 1, 2022. This will make travel within the region much easier, as border neighbors Greece, North Macedonia, and Romania have already lifted their entry requirements as well.
Lithuania
From May 1, 2022, travelers will face zero-entry restrictions when arriving in Lithuania. Prior to this, travelers from specific nations had to show proof of vaccination or proof of a negative test; this is no longer the case from May. Lithuania’s neighbors Latvia and Poland have also removed their entry requirements as well.
Masks are also being removed on public transit.
Armenia
May 1st, no proof of vaccination, negative tests, or any other entry requirements will apply when entering Armenia.
Kyrgyzstan
One of the first -‘Stans’ to remove entry requirements, Kyrgyzstan is lifting all travel rules as of May 1, 2022. No more proof of vaccination or negative tests are required for entry, and the visa on arrival program has been reinstated.
Kuwait
Kuwait has removed all entry rules as of May 1st. Prior to this arrivals had to show either proof of vaccination or a negative test. Also discontinued as of May 1st is any use of the internal vaccine passport as well as masks.
Liechtenstein
New entry May 1, 2022
Liechtenstein follows the border rules of Swizterland, so as of May 1st, it has also removed all entry requirements and travel rules, shadowing its neighbor.
Croatia
New entry May 1, 2022
Croatia, a nation that stayed open for tourism almost completely throughout the entire pandemic (with minor entry requirements in place) has finally removed all entry rules and is fully reopen for tourism. No tests, no proof of vaccine, and even masks are gone within the nation.
Kosovo
New entry May 1, 2022
As of the 1st of May, Kosovo has removed all its entry rules, joining the 5 Balkan nations surrounding the country. We don’t have any confirmation yet if masks are also being discontinued, but will continue to research.
Serbia
New entry May 3, 2022
Serbia removed all border and entry rules on May 3, 2022, returning to its relaxed position that we saw earlier in 2020. No more tests or proof of vaccination is needed to enter.
Madeira (& the Azores)
New entry May 4, 2022
Although mainland Portugal still has entry requirements, those with a DIRECT flight to Madeira are not subject to any of them. New York flies directly there, as well as almost every major European city.
Gibraltar
New entry May 4, 2022
Travel to Gibraltar is restriction-free, and since Gibraltar has an international airport, many readers requested this to be its own independent entry on this list.
Congo
New entry as of May 5, 2022
Congo has removed their entry requirements as of May 5, 2022.
Afghanistan

As of May 10, 2022, Afghanistan has removed all its entry requirements, although travel is still strongly discouraged by most world governments.
Austria
New entry as of May 16, 2022
Austria removes entry requirements effective Monday, May 16, 2022. As one of the most strict European nations at one point, the total removal of all entry rules allows Austria to join neighbors like Czechia, Slovenia, Hungary, and Switzerland.
Vietnam
New entry as of May 16, 2022
Vietnam has removed all entry requirements, including testing, as of May 16, 2022, making it the first South East Asian nation to do so. While masks are still technically a requirement, our writers on the ground say it’s not widely enforced.
While some official sources still claim random testing could happen at the airport upon arrival, actual experiences are reporting this is not in effect.
Israel
New entry as of May 17, 2022
Effective May 21, 2022, Israel is officially discontinuing all entry requirements, including the requirement for foreign tourists to show proof of vaccination. A passenger locator form is still in effect, but Israel had a version of this form pre-pandemic as well.
Oman
New entry as of May 22, 2022
Oman joins neighbors Yemen and Saudi Arabia in removing all entry requirements, allowing tourists to return without tests or vaccination rules. The new border rules came into effect May 22nd and include the removal of indoor masks as well as gathering limits for events.
Belgium
New entry as of May 23, 2022
Belgium finally removes entry requirements at the tail end of May when around 70% of all other European nations have already done so. Masks are also no longer required on public transportation and indoor spaces.
Bosnia and Herzegovina
New entry as of May 28, 2022
Bosnia and Herzegovina remove all entry requirements effective May 27, 2022, being the final puzzle piece making the entire Balkan area completely restriction-free.
Cyprus
New entry as of May 29, 2022
As of June 1, 2022, Cyprus removes entry requirements, like proof of vaccination for entry. Masks indoors are no longer mandatory, including in the airport.
Italy
New entry as of May 31, 2022
Italy removed all entry requirements as of June 1, 2022, allowing all tourists for any country to enter without testing or proof of vaccination. However, there is still a mask mandate in place for public transit and flights until at least June 15th.

Turkey
New entry as of June 1, 2022
Turkey has removed all their covid-related entry requirements effective June 1, 2022. Masks are also removed in all public indoor places, including public transit, but will stay in place for hospitals.
Belarus

Belarus removed its entry requirements as of May 28, 2022
Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan has discontinued all covid-related entry measures, effective June 8, 2022.
Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan follows neighbor Kazakstan and removes all entry requirements like testing and proof of vax on June 10, 2022. We may see the ‘Stans follow the same pattern as the Balkan, all reopening in similar timelines.
Germany
Germany rejoins this list after a very confusing 2 weeks. In late May, Germany announced as of June 1 they will be dropping all entry requirements. However, come June 1, they actually made the rules slightly harder to enter by removing the option for third-party travelers to bring a negative test, and only allowing proof of vaccination (which includes a booster). Now, as of June 11, they have once again stated they are removing all entry requirements, and they have actually gone ahead and done so at this time.
Georgia
As of June 15, Georgia removes all entry requirements, joining so many other nations in the region. To the west, in Eastern Europe, almost every country has also removed travel rules, along with Georgia’s neighbors to the south (Turkey and Armenia) and most of the ‘Stans to the East.
Benin
Benin, a small nation in Africa that borders Nigeria, has removed all entry requirements as of June 16, 2022. Note that tourists from all countries outside the African continent will need an eVisa to enter as part of normal entry rules.
Estonia
Estonia has now dropped all entry rules, as of June 16, 2022. Now all tourists, no matter the country, can enter without proof of vaccination or testing.
Egypt
As of June 17, 2022, all of Egypt’s covid-related travel rules for arriving tourists have been scrapped.
Finland
The Finnish Interior Ministry confirms that all entry requirements will be lifted on June 30, 2022 for international travelers, including all third-party visitors. Finland was the last piece of the pie as neighbors Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania have already removed entry requirements.

South Africa
As of June 25, 2022, South Africa removes all entry requirements for tourists, making entry extremely easy once again. On the same day, the requirement to wear masks indoors was also removed.
Mauritius
July 1, 2022 marks the start date for the removal of entry requirements to visit the African island nation of Mauritius. Public gathering limits and face masks were also removed, except for in hospitals and on public transit.
Trinidad and Tobago
All entry requirements for Trinidad and Tobago have been removed as of July 1, 2022. Most recently, a 48-hour test was needed to enter, but prior to that T&T has been one of the strictest nations throughout the entire pandemic.
Portugal
Portugal has removed all entry requirements as of July 1, 2022. Tourists will no longer need negative tests or the EU’s Digital Certificate to enter. This also includes Azores and Madeira.
Australia
As of Wednesday, July 6, 2022, Australia removes all entry requirements and travelers will no longer need to show proof of vaccination, nor a passenger locator form.
Malta
As of July 25, 2022, Malta will finally remove all entry requirements. Masks have not been mandatory since April and will continue to not be required indoors and now including on flights.
Belize
Belize removed all entry requirements as of July 16, 2022, although visitors will still need to book their stay at a ‘Gold Standard’ accommodation.
France
As of August 1, 2022, France finally removes entry requirements for all travelers, being one of the very last European nations to do so.
Please note – The French government still retains the right to activate “emergency brake” measures for up to two months in the event of a new variant or significant increase in cases. This “emergency brake” contingency is valid until January 31st, 2023.
This also includes Frech Territories like Reunion Island, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, St. Barths, Monaco, etc.
Martinique & Guadeloupe
With France’s removal of all entry requirements on August 1, 2022, two French island territories Guadeloupe and Martinique followed suit. Both islands removed all travel restrictions on the same day.
Rwanda
Back on July 12, 2022, Rwanda removed entry requirements for tourists, no longer asking for a test upon arrival, nor the passenger locator form. However, news still suggests vaccine passports may still be in effect to access some local businesses and services once on the ground.
Sudan
As of August 2, 2022, Sudan has removed all entry requirements for incoming travelers.
Malaysia
Malaysia has removed all entry requirements, effective August 1, 2022. However, masks for indoor settings are still here to stay for the moment.
French Guiana
French Guiana has removed all entry requirements as of August 1, 2022, following France’s official removal.
Madagascar
Madagascar recently removed all of its entry requirements for international tourists, effective August 11, 2022.
Guatemala
Effective August 12, 2022, all Covid entry requirements are now removed in the Central American nation of Guatemala. This news makes Guatemala the fourth country in the continent after Belize, Costa Rica, and El Salvador to remove all Covid-related entry requirements for international arrivals.
St Kitts and Nevis
August 15, 2022, all Covid-related entry requirements for travelers, including testing and proof of vaccination, have been officially scraped in the island nation of St Kitts and Nevis.
Cayman Islands
Starting August 24, 2022, the Cayman Islands have removed all their entry requirements, returning to normal. For two and half a years, the famous archipelago applied some of the strictest rules in all of the Americas, barring unvaccinated visitors while requiring those able to produce a vaccination certificate to apply for authorization in advance.
Namibia
As of August 26, 2022, the government of Namibia has discontinued all covid measures for arriving tourists, like the requirements to show proof of vaccination or proof of a negative test. Entry is now as it was pre-pandemic.
Dominica
Effective August 25, 2022, the Caribbean nation of Dominica has removed all covid-related entry requirements.
Panama
As of September 15, Panama no longer requires foreigner visitors to present a vaccine or negative test. All Covid-19 entry requirements have been lifted.
Tahiti (French Polynesia), Brunei, Lesotho, Cook Islands, Vanuatu
The countries listed above no longer have any Covid-19 related entry requirements.
Antigua & Barbuda
All COVID-l9 restrictions were lifted for arriving passengers by air effective August 29, 2022
New Zealand
As of September 13 New Zealand has dropped all covid-19 related entry requirements including vaccine passports and mask mandates.
St. Lucia
As of Sept. 5, 2022, St. Lucia removed all testing and vaccination requirements for the island.
Cape Verde
Cape Verde has removed all entry requirements as of September 15, 2022.
Netherlands
Effective September 17th, 2022, the Dutch Government has finally made the decision to get rid of all Covid-19 travel restrictions and requirements. This includes all territories.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines
September 18, 2022, is the official date of the removal of all entry requirements to visit the islands of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Proof of vaccination nor testing will be enforced past this date.
Bhutan
Bhutan has removed all covid-related entry requirements as of September 22, 2022.
Barbados
Barbados has finally removed entry requirements effective September 23, 2022, and has also made mask-wearing in public spaces optional.
Samoa
Samoa removed all entry requirements as of September 22, 2022.
Bahamas
The islands of the Bahamas no longer have entry requirements in place as of September 22, 2022.
Lebanon
Lebanon officially removed all entry requirements effective September 27, 2022.
Botswana
As of September 28, 2022, Botswana has now removed all entry requirements and covid-related restrictions, including masks.

Chile and Cuba Notes
Cuba was a hopeful entry as of April 6, 2022, however, it cannot be added to this list for keeping one very important restriction in place, the random on-arrival testing. Although they are removing all tests and proof of vaccination, they will keep in a random PCR test on arrival, based on the flow of incoming tourists and the current epidemiological situation. IF a tourist tests positive, they will be hospitalized for 10-14 days, making this too big of a barrier.
Chile removed entry requirements, including PCR testing and proof of vaccination for entry, starting April 14, 2022. However, they still have too many restrictions in place for it to qualify for this list, including a very strict internal passport. Tourists must have a booster to qualify for the digital vaccine passport, and it’s needed to access restaurants, cinemas, domestic travel, tours, concerts, events, etc. They also kept in place random testing on arrival, a digital health affidavit, and mandatory travel health insurance that covers covid.
***Chile Update***
As of December 6th, 2022, Chile has reinstated some travel requirements. Travlers either need to be fully vaccinated or must take a PCR test within 48 hours of departure. Travelers under 18 years old do not have to meet these requirements.
