TEHRAN – Head of Isfahan province’s tourism department, Amir Karamzadeh, on Wednesday stressed the need for the province’s tourism sector to comply with global standards.
“Today, more than ever, there is a need for a serious assessment of tourism in Isfahan, both by the government and the private sector. In this regard, I believe that the research project can be a solution.”
Speaking at the fourth director-general meeting with the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, he added: “One of the most important indicators for understanding the tourism industry is to always face reality in it. Therefore, tourism activists must always be realistic.”
He added, “I believe that the most important responsibility of the Chamber of Commerce, as a private company, is to always make demands of the government.”
“Unfortunately, the private sector in tourism in Isfahan does not seem to be operating as efficiently as it should be. Therefore, I believe that with the right support, tourism in Isfahan can be brought up to global standards.”
Isfahan was once Iran’s crossroads for international trade and diplomacy and is now one of Iran’s top tourist destinations. Isfahan is filled with numerous architectural wonders, including unparalleled Islamic architecture, bazaars, museums, Persian gardens and tree-lined boulevards. It’s a great city to stroll around, get lost in the labyrinthine bazaars, nap in beautiful gardens and meet people.
This ancient city has long been nicknamed Nesef-e-Jahan, which translates to “half the world,” implying that seeing this city is like seeing half the world.
