TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The 24th annual Chain of Parks Arts Festival will be held this weekend in the nation’s capital, Tallahassee, with thousands of people expected to attend.

Festival manager Powell Kreis said he expected 35,000 people to attend.

The free two-day festival will feature more than 15 stalls and 150 artists displaying their artwork.

Kreis believes the festival is a great event for artists to showcase their work, as well as a great free event for families to enjoy the outdoors with their loved ones.

This year’s festival cover artist, Elster Richardson, will exhibit paintings depicting waterways that are important to him, including Jackson Lake. He said he feels like many waterways are in decline and wanted to show their importance in his own work. He will have paintings available at the event.

Road closures are expected to begin Friday this weekend due to the annual event.

For those interested, the festival will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will also be a special performance by the Rickards High School pep band.
