Governor Bryan reflects on Richards’ accomplishments
Governor Albert Bryan Jr. released a statement Friday highlighting Pamela Richards’ significant contributions to the Virgin Islands. “It is with a heavy heart that I express my deepest condolences for the passing of Pamela Richards, a dear friend and valued supporter, former U.S. Virgin Islands Tourism Director and Clerk of the Virgin Islands Legislature,” the governor said. Governor Bryan praised her lifelong dedication to the Virgin Islands and her efforts to preserve the islands’ culture and history.
Senators and lieutenant governor pay tribute
Senate Majority Leader Kenneth L. Gittens also spoke highly of Richards’ impact, noting her sharp intellect and hard work. “I was very saddened to learn of her passing,” Gittens said. He recalled Richards’ effective leadership during her time as executive director of the 29th Congress, highlighting her role in implementing reforms and advocating for employees.
Lt. Governor Tregenza Roach shared his personal memories of Richards, describing her as a trusted friend and visionary leader. “Pamela was my trusted friend and I admired and respected her dynamic, visionary and creative leadership,” he said. The Lt. Governor recalled their longstanding friendship and her passionate commitment to community service.
Congressman Plaskett offers heartfelt condolences
Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett also released a statement mourning Richards’ death. “I was saddened to hear of Pam’s passing. First and foremost, Pamela Richards was my friend,” said Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett. She praised Richards for her contributions to the Virgin Islands community in many capacities and fondly remembered her contributions to cultural development in the Virgin Islands.
